I'm trying to write a script for a complex site login, but I'm having problems getting it to work due to the lack of documentation. I read the post about how to create a script at http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/7, but it covers very little. When I look at some of the example scripts, they are using things that have no explaination or documentation.
Yesterday my Windows installation crashed. I managed to access the harddisk with a Ubuntu Live CD and made backups of my Firefox bookmarks and add-ons. Since i always used X-notifier to check my e-mail, i guess i forgot the exact e-mail address i've used and created for a study project. Is there a way to retrieve just the e-mail addresses used by X-notifier ?
I've tried using gmail notifier which works fine with XP on my husband's dinosaur Dell laptop. Not compatible with windows 7. Found X-notifier but can't get it to work at all on windows 7, hp netbook. Showed all the options, which I filled out (couldn't find Central time zone on the list it offered) but it's still nowhere to be found. After downloading, program isn't listed in "all programs" or in control panel. Shows up nowhere. No icon on desktop, nothing in taskbar, etc. So any advice on how to get this thing to work? I've restarted firefox and my netbook, to no avail.
I have my settings "Exported" to a .xn file. The next time I'm playing with my Firefox settings and mistakenly select "Clear Passwords [when Firefox closes]," restoring my X-notifier settings will take a short 10 seconds.
Previously and the last few time when I was playing with the beta version, I could not remember what version I was running and had to open up my add-ons to see the version. If there a way the version number can be easily added somewhere on the main page when you select x-notifier options? That would make it so much easier then going to the browser add-on window.
