X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

By djshades , 3 October 2017

WTF have you done to the app????

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

Just got app updated and mate, you've take like 20 steps backward.  The interface is not working correctly, read mails don't clear in the notify area, can't have multiple accounts open in diff tabs - each one just reopens in the existing email tab, some won't even open at all.  This is a classic case of 'if it aint broke don't try to fix it'.  Whilst there were issues with the last version this new one is just plain awful. Sorry, but you messed up badly here.

Spams resurfacing old topics, not current

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

Spamsters are picking old posts to dump their trash on, so old topics keep resurfacing lately.
I've been using the Report function... it makes the spam posts go away, at least for me, until I go back to the topic, sometimes.  Anyway, the admin cleans them up eventually.

X-notifier 4.14 and FireFox 57.0a1 Nightly

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

After getting tired of seeing "LEGACY" next to many of my addons I spent some time last week and upgraded to the nightly channel of FireFox and migrated to new WebExtensions.

After using a bit I want to say that X-notifier is working great for me (3 Gmail Accounts, 3 Hotmail accounts). Thanks tobwithu for the continued support!

captcha not working with FF55.0.3

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

Firefox seems to have some problems with captcha.

According to the following website, there seems to be a coding issue on the XN website that is subject to that glitch.

Copied from https://contactform7.com/faq/captcha-s-text-input-box-is-working-on-int…

 <blockquote>

This is a well-known issue caused by misusing the <label> element. Make sure you are using it correctly.

This is good:

[captchac your-captcha]
<label>Enter the code: [captchar your-captcha]</label>

This will not work correctly:

<label>[captchac your-captcha]
Enter the code: [captchar your-captcha]</label>

XN 4.1.4 not showing all unopened mail

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

When I accessed a Yahoo mail account to send an email, I found an unopened email that is several weeks old. Since then I have accessed other accounts to also find more unopened email. XN did not indicate unopened mail for these accounts.

Using Windows 10, Firefox 55.0.3, XN 4.1.4

I have several Yahoo accounts and am not using other servers. When using the interval timer or the "Check Now" option XN reliably cycles through every account but only shows new mail for some.

All accounts can be accessed through the XN drop down box, so it does not seem to be an access issue.

From Firefox I deleted all cookies related to Yahoo and allowed XN to reinstall its own relevant cookies; so it does not seem to be related to foreign cookies.

I cycled through "Check Now" several times to stabilize the access to the accounts; so it does not seem to be a stability issue.

Any suggestions as to what else to try?

Does XN work wtih Pale Moon?

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

I just switched from FF to Pale Moon, and installed 3.5.23, because it was the only compatible version. It doesn't work at all. It won't check any emails. Is there a trick to make it work, or does it just not work in Pale Moon?

Log into Gmail without logging into Google account?

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

In older versions of X-notifier, it used to be the case that I could check my email without being logged into my Google account. This changed with X-notifier 4. I just don't want to have to worry about Google tracking my searches. Does anyone know if it is possible to return to that setting?

I tried going back to 3.5.23 but none of my accounts are getting checked; always red.

Any help is appreciated.

Forums
X-notifier for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari (deprecated)

I currently use Mozilla Firefox and realize that Hotmail/ Outlooking is rolling out a Beta which is giving it a new look this could cause problems with being able to log into Hotmail / Outlook emails so be careful if you decide to try it . I wanted to make you all aware of this.
