After Firefox compulsory "upgrade", I lost all my emails data in x-notifier, and worst than that, even after putting them again in place, (emails, passwords, etc|) x-notifier it is not working at all!! Please help.
It seems that when I use XN 4.2.13 to switch between my three different Hotmail accounts, it crashes and I have to initiate a repair to the extension and import my setup information. It started happening after the 4.2.13 update. Anyone else having this issue? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension without any luck. I don't see any logs to investigate.
Found the extension updated to 4.2.12 this morning and tried to reactivate my Gmail accounts but unread count is still wrong for accounts with lots of unread emails in Social and Promotions tabs.
I get an indication that I have email on two of my hotmail accounts. I select "Open" from the menu and a tab with the main hotmail account is opened (I think this is normal for 4.x, instead of opening both hotmail accounts in separate tabs). The counter displayed on the icon is reduced by the number of new emails that were in the primary account.
Now I close this tab and select the other hotmail account from the menu (which is indicating, for example 2 new emails). As soon as I click on it, it opens the new tab and displays the secondary hotmail acount with the two new emails, however, X-Notifier also makes the "new mail" sound and "rediscovers" the 2 new emails. So even though the counter is reset when I click on the secondary hotmail account, the immediate "rediscovery" of the 2 emails makes the counter go back up to 2.
So, now I have read the new emails, and close the tab, but the counter is still showing "2". If I wait for the check interval, X-notifier will notice that there are no new emails and reset the countr. Also, if I "Open" the account from the menu again, it will reset the counter correctly.
Anyone have this problem where it "checks for new emails" right after you click on the email account in the X-Notifier menu, causing the counter to not reset?
Since FF pushed to 67.0 it seems there is a minor issue with XN.
Normally when clicking on the XN icon - without new mail notification - the dropdown windows shows with the mail accounts. Now when clicking the icon the dropdown windows shows, but it appears that it's empty. Only when you hover over the window the mail accounts will show up.
When new mail arrives this issue is not present, and the XN icon and window have normal behavior like always.
It seems to me that this is kind of bug?
More people who use FF 67.0 have this as well?
Edit: I just discoverd that i only experience this on W10(x64). I just updated an W7(x64) and there is everything working fine.
Some months ago, people posted problems with Gmail checking but nothing has been posted recently so I am wondering whether I am currently the only one having problems with the checking of Gmail accounts. It would be great to know as then I would need to dig further in my own configuration. But I have tried setting up a new Firefox with x-notifier and just one gmail account and that also did not work.
This is my current status: If I open either of my 4 gmail accounts from x-notifier, the gmail web page opens up and is logged in flawlessly.
But the checking of the accounts from x-notifier does not work. Very randomly, maybe once a day, I get notified regarding one account but usually the message count number does not match the current state of that account. If I click "check now" the checking appears to work too quickly and there will be no news.
I would appreciate any hints as this is a great add-on and I haven't found any other that comes close to X-notifier.
I normally use X-Notifier Reloaded with Firefox 56. When I start the browser, it asks for my "Master Password". If I enter it, X-Notifier works fine, if I don't then X-Notifier does not see any of my email accounts and doesn't work until I reload the browser and enter my Master Password.
I recently tried the current version of the Firefox browser and the latest X-Notifier (4.x). When I start the browser, it does not ask for my "Master Password" (even though it is set) and all my email accountss are there in X-Notifier. If I select them, it logs me in to each account.
So, I am wondering if this is expected? Should I be able to automatically log in to all the email accounts without having to enter the "Master Password"? If it is how it is supposed to work, isn't it a security problem? At least it appears that the old version on Firefox 56 did not allow you to log in to email unless you entered your Master Password.
I understand that Chrome does not protect passwords once you are logged in to windows. If you are logged in to windows, then all passwords are viewable, but I thought Firefox was different, but now I am not so sure.
