Is there a way to only get notifications from my inbox, and not junk mail?

It seemed before that Xnotifier was only alerting me to importnt mail, (ie; Mail in my inbox that was  neither "social" "Promotions" or "Junk")
Now, I am getting an alert every time any mail at all including all the promo mail I get.
Does anyone now if  there's a way to make X notifier only alert me to mail in my invbox?
