Help. New window auto opens

By jeff_r0x , 18 June 2015

Hi.  I am having difficulty in that, since I updated my X-notifier to 3.5.9, I no longer get a notification flag in the bottom right corner, sound, or a lit icon on the toolbar. Instead, a new window auto opens in front of me when new mail arrives.  I really don't like this feature, as many times I am working on something else and the email can wait.  Please help me to disable this new default.  I just want to be notified of the mail.

I'm sure this has been dealt with here before, so I apologize.  My search words didn't help me.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that doesn't fix it.  Box has never even been checked and still it auto opens. :(

Here's the real kicker. I tried to check that box and clicked ok.  I was going to see if I could force it to stop by then going back and unchecking it. The problem was, every time I checked it and clicked ok, closing the dialogue, it was still unchecked when I went back in.

Corrupted installation?

If the checkbox is not working as it should... I would uninstall and reinstall the product... because the auto-opening action you describe is exactly what the Options checkbox is supposed to control.  There's no good reason for that option to not be checkable/uncheckable.  Cycling the state of the checkbox is a good idea...IF...you can get it to work.

Well, it must have been a corrupted installation.  After attenpting all the above, I uninstalled, closed and reopened the browser, then reinstalled the add-on.  This time it showed the auto open on by default, so I unchecked the box and tested it.  So far, so good.

Thank you all.

I let  you read whole things...
right now I am complete forgot about it, until you bring it up again...

One year ago, I real "co-depend" on "notification flag in the bottom right corner"...

Right now I do NOT care for it.

I put X-notifier (icon) on Toolbar right now...

I change my habit look upper right side, instead of lower right side...

I hopefully it helpfully to you. (SmileFULLY for my bad grammar!)
