I am new to mac, and came from windows. I am able to get x-notifier to work in Firefox on mac, but not in Safari. Is there an issue? I get the icon in the tool bar, but it is greyed out. When i click on it, i have the 3 options, but clicking on them does nothing. Any ideas?
I have been using Firefox for several years but I decided now to migrate to Chrome for performance reassons.
This made me to migrate also all my addons/extensions and, of course, x-notifier was the first one that I intalled. But I noticed that doesnt work so well like it does on Firefox.
I have 4 Hotmail accounts added to it and always have been perfect on Firefox. I just had to click on x-notifier icon and select wich account to open. Or just left click and all accounts with new emails opens at same time each one in a different tab. But on Chrome it doesnt work like that. Sometimes it says that I got an email in the account "B" but the email is really in the account "A". Most of times I cant either change from one account to another or x-notifier just get me to the wrong one. For example, I select account A and it opens account C, then I try account B and it still in account C or just open a totally different one. Then sometimes I also get a message on OutLook saying to reload the page to load emails corerctly. When I do, it automatically changes from one account to another even without using x-notifier.
I dont know why this happens but seems like a problem with cookies (maybe?). I just would like to know how to fix it or if is a known bug. Most of times I need to restart Chrome to make it "work" a bit better again.
Even though your browser is not in the list, you can use the script if you use one account for that script.
I guess that is what I experience with my tele2.nl script. I have a zonnet.nl and a tele2.nl account at Tele2. I have them both configured in XN, but with Chrome one is always greyed out. The greyed-out account gets activated when I click it in the XN-icon popup menu and the other account gets greyed out. I reckon this behavior is the same for more than 2 accounts.
It is pretty easy to get your accounts working simultaneously with Chrome/Safari/Opera by creating extra scripts (conforming to the above scripts page remark):
Duplicate the current script for each account, giving each of them a unique name
For each script: a) Open the script in a texteditor (like notepad) b) Adjust the var name to a unique one c) Save the script
In XN Options: a) Add your extra scripts to XN b) Add each account to XN using the corresponding script
Of course you have to remember repeating this when the script gets updated by the script author.
So, I now have both my Tele2 accounts working simultaneously in XN for Chrome:
The tele2.nl account uses the original tele2.nl.js script with var name="Tele2.nl"
The zonnet.nl account uses the duplicated zonnet.nl.js script with var name="ZonNet.nl"
Like CFBancroft usually concludes: - And ENJOY your extra working accounts with XN -
The coupons in the bottom right corner have x-notifier as a sponsor on them. There is also a prompt to disable the notifications from said coupons, but when you click on the disable mark it doesn't disable the coupons for more than a second. Is there a way to get rid of these intrusive adds or coupons permanently?
