Some users have trouble, but many of us do not. Sometimes we have to be persistent in troubleshooting our own setups. All I can say is I have 3 accounts from outlook/hotmail/live.com and they're working fine in Chrome, Firefox and Thunderbird. I also have about 20 other accounts working fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Thunderbird. Only one script seems to need to be updated (for deviantArt.com)... that I know of, from my setup.
