Nitpick: There's no 'alert' perhaps, but there are indications...
Firefox: hover over X-Notifier envelope icon (tooltip shows unchecked accts in red), or right click the envelope icon (unchecked accounts are gray). Chrome: click the X-Notifier envelope icon... accounts not checked are shown in red.
But yes, there's no pop-up alert.... it would be good if that were 'optional' too.

It is much needed to have some kind of easily seen alert such as red icon, pop up, etc ... in case the email is not checked for whatever reason.
