Delete Yahoo cookies

Deleting the cookies temporarily fixes the problem.  Even though XN gets updates, Yahoo starts to eventually fail.  The latest update of XN v3.5.4 seems to be fine, but that does not mean Yahoo login will break again in 5mins.

If you want XN to check your Yahoo mail, this is easy to do:
1 -  Open your OPTIONS menu - Select PRIVACY Tab
3 - Select "Show Cookies"
4 - In the Search Field enter Yahoo
5 - Highlight/select all you yahoo cookies and either hit your DEL key or select "Remove Cookies"
6 - Close
7 -  OK

Let XN check your mail and you should be able to LOGIN to Yahoo again.

Hi tr2b,

Hi tr2b,

I tried deleting all the yahoo-cookies.  On at least one occasion, it didn't work.

My theory is that if XN tries to log onto Yahoo, and it gets something besides the standard Log-In page, then the log-in fails.

My idea is to make Yahoo happy, manually, filling out forms and following its strong suggestions, until further loggins return to the usual, normal Log In page.  After that, XN will finally be able to log in automatically, again.

Both may be required

Good that you have identified the persistence of Yahoo in gumming up the login process... :(

In any case, both approaches may be required... deleting cookies and checking the manual login process for annoying prompts.

These are outlined in the FAQ, http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/4

  • Log in or register to post comments
  • Neo can't see my Yahoo accounts unless I'm logged in
  • X-notifier Neo is back!
  • Default check interval not work
  • Delete X-notifier account
