X-Notifier Logging Out of Active E-mail Account

For some time now X-Notifier has seemingly randomly been logging me out of the webmail account I am actively using at that time.  As currently set up I have it checking 9 POP3 and 7 Yahoo e-mail accounts.  Setting up these accounts in the Options window requires that one account of each type be designated as the "Default" account.  My primary e-mail account is designated as the "Default" account among the POP3 accounts.  However, whether I am in this "Default" account or any of the other POP3 or Yahoo accounts, sporadically I will suddenly be logged out and X-Notifer log

Do you simply open a new tab and login to  your Yahoo accounts or do you use X-Notifier (right-click on X-Notifier envelope icon and click your account)? 

I know that if I'm using one of my gmail accounts, and I didn't go through X-Notifier to log in ...then when X-Notifier checks for new email, it can throw me off the account, perhaps into one of the others.   If I open the account through the X-Notifier pop-up account list, as I described in first sentence, then my working session will not be interrupted by X-Notifier email checks.  (This method of logging in was suggested to me a while ago, by the developer.)

 

Thanks RpD - For the POP3 account I log in via a webmail login interface.  I cannot get X-notifier to log me into the POP3 accounts like it does the Yahoo accounts.  Perhaps there is a trick to getting that functionality to work with the POP3 accounts as well.  Your description does sound like what might be happening though - thanks for the insights!

I hope that Session Manager solved your problem... if not... try (see below)

When you click one of your total 16 email 

9 POP account, it will open in Thunderbird (or other client mail)? (If, Yes)

That left you 7 Yahoo mail to work with Firefox only? (If, Yes)

You click on X-notifier one of 7 Yahoo host email and it open in Firefox with new Tab Menu? (If, Yes)

Can you see Tab Menu with underline? (If, Yes)

Right Click on Tab Menu with underline and choose X-notifier and pick "None" (I hope it will not cause you "Log it out")

I know this method is "bad idea"... I suggest this method for "time being" (maybe one year? until improve in future version? It depend on Tobwithu to find and solved this problem... it take time to communicate with Firefox Dev and X-notifer Dev to work together to prevent "log it out", I can NOT read Tobwithu's mind, that will fixed it. Keep it in your mind that, "my suggest", it might/will not solve problem.)

Can you download SeaMonkey and use it? (If, Yes)

Click on Options and Export your account and Import into SeaMonkey...

You choose X-N Icon and right click
and choose "X-notifier Window",
you will see 16 email host on listing.
You close (not quit) SeaMonkey's browser window and leave X-notifier Window on  your screen.

You "never" click on SeaMonkey's X-notifier Window. Just look at it "IF" any new email that all.

When you see any new Email on SeaMonkey's X-notifier Window...
You click on Firefox and Manually log in on Yahoo account. (as RpD's suggest see above post.)
(You might need to disabled X-notifier on Firefox to prevent "auto log it out" ?)

Reason?

Mine IP address in Japan, (no problem with Yahoo)
Tobwithu IP address in South Korea, (no problem with Yahoo)
RpD's IP address in USA, (no problem with Yahoo)
and your IP address other part of this Earth. (that cause you log it out from Yahoo?)

That why Tobwithu need your actually log from your locally IP address that Yahoo provide to you,
not us (me, Tobwithu, RpD because different IP address.)

I hope that Tobwithu able to find what wrong with Yahoo with specify IP address
and if he find it and he will update Yahoo script in future XN release.

Ok, POP3 will -not- auto-log you into account with a new tab.... but ...you can provide a web address in "Link" box in definition of each account, the address for the web login page... so that when you click your POP3 accounts in the X-Notifier pop-up list of accounts, they will take you to a web login page (but it won't auto-login) within a new tab.  

The issue of kicking you around accounts, or off... when X-Notifier checks for new email...  I don't think occurs with POP3 because it's not like multi-logins with same provider.

RpD & CFBancroft - thanks for your insights.  I will admit to being a bit of a simplistic user for this type of application.  I will read (and reread and reread and,,,) your advice and suggestions and see what I can decipher.  I have used Thunderbird in the past n my old computer.  However, it got rather sick and I have not yet been able to get to the Thunderbird files so I can transfer all that history into a new installation on my current pc.  That is one of my goals though and it might resolve my challenge with X-Notifier bouncing me out of the POP3 account.  Thanks again!!!

In case you're not aware...

If I remember right, you can simply copy your profile directory from the old machine to the Profiles directory of Thunderbird on the new machine...
C:\Users\{ yourusername}\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\{yourprofilename}
...and then start Thunderbird with the -ProfileManager switch...
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -ProfileManager
...and choose Create Profile which will give you the option to select the profile folder to use for a new profile.
Select the folder you copied and it should have all your original email, etc when you restart Thunderbird.
