Verification code needed for Hotmail

X-Notifier for Hotmail has not been working for me for 2 months. It keeps saying "Hotmail is not checked" when I hover over the add-on icon. Nor does it give me notifications for new mail anymore. 

Today, the add-on updated. A window keeps popping up saying I need a verification code for my Hotmail account. Where can I get this code? Perhaps if I enter this, X-notifier will work again?

Open a new tab and go to hotmail.com (or outlook.com, live.com, whatever)... and sign in ...you will most likely get a prompt to enter a code that they will send to  your email. 

Microsoft is forcing a verification code on everyone(?) and then, yes, X-Notifier will work fine.

Thanks for the reply. Microsoft isn't sending me any verification codes when I sign in. I think because it recognizes my computer as a trusted device. I know what you mean by the verification now, I have done it before when my iPhone needed a verification of my Hotmail.

Hmmm...does anyone know how to force a verification e-mail?
