In my Yahoo email account I have no unread emails, yet Notifier shows 3 unread emails. I have not checked either setting - to show messages from spam, or to only show messages from inbox. This glitch has been occurring for the last 2 updates to Firefox now, and I've done everything I can think of, even checking my Yahoo Messenger messages, which still doesn't get rid of the icon number on the status bar. Any help would be appreciated.

Yahoo mail folder list -> Messenger -> Available(or Busy, Invisible, Offline) -> Conversation History.
However, I will exclude messenger from the notification count.
