X-notifier Not Checking Gmail Every Minute

By goats , 30 August 2013

I have been using X-notifier for several years and I have always had it set to check my Gmail account with a one minute interval.  Recently, I'm not being alerted for several minutes after new e-mail arrives.

Any suggestions?  I'm using Firefox 23.0.1 and X-notifier 3.3.4.

Thanks.

Right click X-notifier icon

Right click X-notifier icon and check 'Enable'.

'Enable' was already checked,

'Enable' was already checked, so I un-checked and re-checked it for the heck of it, but unless it was a glitch, that wasn't the issue.

Any other ideas?  Thanks.

My prob is almost the same.

My prob is almost the same. Except no matter what settings I set, xnotifier NEVER checks email unless I select check now or restart browser, I have gmail, hotmail comcast...
Loved this prog, but I guess I need to find an alternative.
Captcha and java for every post?
Captcha to create a new login for this said QUESTION, yet no question was found.
Now it is asking for word verify, RCEGG "LEAF_CHICKEN LEG PIC" is not a word I ever heard of.
And I was only previewing!

Broken

So it would seem that you either have a faulty installation (something corrupted), or there is something blocking/conflicting with it.

I would uninstall, disable all other add-ons, and reinstall, rebuilding some accounts from scratch... and see if it suddenly works alright. Then you can enable other addons, one by one.  Also may be a conflict with other software, security software/cleaners, etc.
It's also possible you might try a brand new user profile in Firefox... install X-Notifier, build an account, see if it works. Sometimes user profiles get corrupted.
