For those using 'Classic' Yahoo! Mail...with Thunderbird.
I got this reminder back in April...
"Starting the first week of June, you will be prompted to switch to the new Yahoo! Mail. The switch will be seamless and instantaneous--everything in your existing Yahoo! Mail account (emails, contacts, folders and attachments) will move over."
I am using Yahoo mail classic
I am using Yahoo mail classic for years and i don't like the new bolted version of yahoo mail. Yahoo will do a blunder if they try to force users to switch to new version they will lose market in mail as they have lost in search. I a personally looking for a alternate email for yahoo which will work without java script.
alternate viewing option without javascript
Initially new yahoo mail didnot allowed viewing mail without javascipt but now if javascript is disabled yahoo gives a alternate viewing option without javascript please add a option in xnotifire to directly go to this viewing mode without seeing the middle page.
Direct to Inbox
For me, now (Dec 2013)...
Using Thunderbird...
...when I click my Yahoo account in X-Notifier's account list... it now takes me directly to my Yahoo Inbox in a new tab (and it's the 'new' version with themes, etc). I'm not getting that intermediary page, unless I click any of Yahoo's "Mail" links to go back to mail... then it will remind that my browser doesn't support blahblah and prompt to upgrade, but there's a link at bottom to continue without upgrading.
However, in Firefox...
...if you have javascript disabled, it will present the intermediary page when trying to go to your Yahoo Inbox.This is not a fault of X-Notifier, of course.
For some odd reason, my Yahoo mail is stuck in 'classic' mode in Firefox... and I can't change it in Options, Advanced, Mail Accounts... I check the button for 'Full featured', but it won't save. I guess I will try clearing cache and cookies.

We kinda got that idea from your first post.
Now, if you're interested in a 'workaround'... which eliminates the intermediary page (at least it did for me, when I tested)...
1) Pull up the intermediary page, where there's a link to 'Continue without upgrading...' and right-click on that link, and choose 'Copy the link location'.
2) Next, set up X-Notifier to access Yahoo Mail through the POP3 script, using the server: pop.mail.yahoo.com.......(server address may be different if you're in other country than U.S., I don't know)........
...then put an better name in the 'Alias' box, such as: POP3 - Yahoo Mail
...AND, most importantly... for the 'Link' box, right-click -in- the 'Link' input box, and Paste that link location... that you copied from the Continue page...
...and in the list of X-Notifier accounts, UNcheck (disable or delete) the account that uses Yahoo script...
...then click 'OK'.
Perhaps, restart browser.
When you next click for Yahoo mail in X-Notifier, it should open to your Inbox, without any intermediary page.
Oh... I know... you want the Yahoo script changed.
Yes, we got that. But there's a workaround for you to use... or don't ...until the Yahoo script is changed.

I guess I've already been upgraded to the 'new' Yahoo
I don't see any problems with the new interface and X-Notifier... other than using Thunderbird/X-Notifier. With Thunderbird, Yahoo will complain to update your 'browser'... but it's been doing that for quite a while. Thunderbird is not a 'full browser', doesn't support javascript, but you can just click the 'Continue anyway' button on the Yahoo complaint screen and go to your Yahoo account in Thunderbird. (Some Yahoo features may not work, but I haven't noticed that in casual use.)
