Mails randomly becomes greyed

By goja , 19 October 2013

Hello,

I noticed that among my emails list (all gmail) some will randomly become grayed, therefore unchecked.

Trying to solve that, i deleted all the cookies related to XN. It helped but now problem is back again. How to fix?

Thanks.

Sometimes...

I have experienced accounts that work fine and stop checking... (more often in Chrome, I think) ...perhaps due to a corruption of the account info on my PC.  I have a couple not checking right now... but they work fine with Thunderbird (which uses the same X-Notifier plugin and scripts), not being corrupted, I guess. Sometimes I have exported from Thunderbird and imported into Firefox... and gotten them working.

You might try deleting the non-working accounts, restarting the browser, and re-adding the accounts... making sure you have latest versions of X-Notifier (which you have, it seems) and latest versions of any custom scripts downloaded from the Scripts page.

You can also create a new Firefox user profile, add X-Notifier only, then the problem account... and test it that way.

Sometimes I have uninstalled X-Notifier, wiping user data, restarted browser, reinstalled, and re-added accounts... I know that's a pain, but once I had working accounts, I exported them... as it can help in the future to delete all accounts, then import the saved working accounts (but it doesn't help to export already non-functional accounts).

Besides 'gray' accounts in the right-click list, if you hover the mouse pointer over X-Notifier envelope icon and get a different popup with some accounts listed in red, then it definitely says 'not checked'.

Sometimes the unchecked accounts seem to be 'temperamental' or capricious... they will start being checked again later for no apparent reason.   Other times, I will click the grayed account to open it in a new tab and watch for any 'prompts' that might need to be answered... which may impede checking for new email.

Good luck.

How do you import/export

How do you import/export these? And there is no "problem account", it happen randomly on ALL accounts (many)...  I NEVER had this issue on Chrome and i don't know how long it's been here on Firefox but not long i think.

Options

For 'Export', there is a button in X-Notifier "Options" window.

Right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon and click "Options".  On the 'Accounts' tab, under the accounts list.

I'm just another user offering comments/help.

I've never had this issue on Firefox.  (all accounts randomly not checked.)

Perhaps the admin will assist.

@goja Are you use wireless network?

Sometime at your home wireless "weak spot" while Notififer checked and respond "grey".

if you have full strong wireless network, it might solved problem by move around your computer or wireless router? for example your refrigerator in the middle of your computer and router that cause disconnect. (drop network for short time while your refrigerator at start up running?)

Not just only refrigerator, but it can be between anything "metal things" such as fuse box, TV and even "LEAD metal" the place where your locally x-ray doctor office... that might interfer your network.

Myself I got grey, I adjust wireless router in different locate, and it solved my grey.

EDIT:
Respond to below post ... about RJ45 ... SMILE.
