I was using 3.5.X version and just updated for 4.0.3 right now, because Gmail wasn't working anymore, but POP3 was removed from this new version. On 3.5.X version I used POP3 for my riseup.net email account, now I couldn't find how to setup.
Can somebody help or will we have an update adding POP3 again?

The X-Notifier developer has said that the changes Firefox developers are making to the addon/appplication programming interface prevent him from including POP3 or IMAP scripts. This is similar to the API for the Chrome version of X-Notifier.
There is a user modified gmail script for 3.5.23 (and a modified version of X-Notifier) that works for many users... look to the subjects of other forum threads or scan through the 100 post thread.

That's pretty strange because I used 3.5.x until yesterday with Firefox 53.0.3 and the only thing that was working was my email I setup with POP3

Okay, I figured it out how to install a script, I was importing wrong, so nevermind.
I liked Neo https://addons.mozilla.org/pt-BR/firefox/addon/xnotifier-neo/ but using 2 addons that do the same bothers me , since I need to keep x-notifier 3.5.x to have POP3
I've followed your tip and returned to 3.5.x to get POP3 working using the user modified script you told to search

I run 4.0.3 in Chrome which runs custom scripts but not POP3/IMAP. I also run MailWasher Pro ...and keep 3.5.23 on Thunderbird and Firefox... with priority in about that order.
