X-Notifier currently only polls for the unread mail count... it does not poll other email data. Polling the other data for emails received would slow the performance of X-Notifier. Perhaps Tobwithu, the developer (or Jeroen, another user) can tell us if that's feasible and practical, but I doubt the developer wants to go there.
Why don't you filter out all email 'From' senders to some Yahoo 'Other' folder except the ones you want X-notifier to notify and set the option 'Notify inbox only'... ?
I expect he wants both Yahoo notifications and a special priority alert for specified individuals. If it was me, I might filter the priority individuals into their own folder(s) with 'Notify inbox only' OFF and then you could see the separate individuals folders with new email by hovering over the Yahoo account in the drop-down list of new emails when you click the XN envelope icon (not hovering over the XN icon though). It will be counted in both Yahoo and the specific individual folder.

Either way he can accomplish his goal himself by using a filter.
