Notifier not working in FF 5.0

I am not getting any notification at all and I can't see the xnotifer control pannel when using FF 50.0 I'm using xnotifier Version 3.5.23 which works fine but if I upgrade to Version 4.0.1 then that's where the problem is? I'm useing FF 50.0b8 but if I upgrade to FF 50.0 then nothing works. Can any help with this issue? I don't want to change my browser. Just to add a note: So long as I use FF 50.0b8 and Xnotifier Version 3.5.23 everything is fine but as soon as I shut down FF and restart, Xnotifer updates to Version 4.0.1 and nothing works

FF 50.0 Released with XN 4.01 works? SHOULD be works, but did NOT!
FYI:
Thunderbird and SeaMonkey latest version with 3.5.23 WORKS WELL!
That included scripts for Facebook, LinkedIn, GMX, DeviantART, POP/IMAP, and ETC... also WORKS!

Ok but how can I stop Xnotifier from updating automaticaly untill there is a stable version of FF available

Automatic updates

Go to your Add-on manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) and select the Extensions page
Look up X-notifier and click the More link
Scroll down and set Automatic updates to Off

I updated to 50.0 final today and x-notifier 3.5.23 was not updated. 4.01 is offered , but I followed your advice about turning automatic updates off. 3.5.23 seems to be working well with 50.0. What is going to happen ? I did install 4.01 to Fx 50 and didn't like it. It is not as good as Chrome which does show email boxes in a drop down menu with right click. I reinstalled 3.5.23. When it stops working with Fx I will give up x-notifier unless 4.01 successor is as good as Chrome.

What I did?

I label two profiles
XN3.5.23
and
XN4.0.1

One Firefox keep in 49.0.2 FOREVER! and choose XN3.5.23!
Other Firefox 50~ you playing with it, and choose two profiles, also playing with it.

Keep in mind, once you able to work on Firefox 51 for example... with XN 4.1 for example...
You will loose POP/IMAP, Facebook, GMX, and ETC!

That why I suggest go to SeaMonkey or Thunderbird for ONLY checking email, while Firefox for browsers.
