Not working for GMX (with Navigator)

By Valentin Stanescu , 31 January 2016

I installed the addon yesterday, added the GMX (with Navigator) script and *successfully* logged in. There is a problem though, the addon doesn't check the Inbox messages:
- the X-notifier stays gray,
- hovering over the addon button shows 'GMX : not checked.'

I *already* used the first 2 methods described here:

unsuccessfully.

Log

I have Firefox 44, and X-Notifier 3.5.19 and...

I right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon (a menu pops up), then I hold SHIFT and click 'Help' on the pop-up menu ...and the pop-up menu disappears.  The next time I right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon, the menu pops up and at the bottom, I see "Log" below 'Options' and 'Help'.

Is that what you do?

Re: Log

First of all, many thanks for your reply.

Second: I checked and I use the same versions: Firefox 44, and X-Notifier 3.5.19.

By replicating the steps you describe I was able to save a log file to \Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox, called xn-firefox.log. However, that log file is EMPTY.

Generate data

I see nobody has responded, sorry I've been offline...
...I did not give full instructions from the FAQ (I'm just another X-Notifier user)...
...I just wanted to make sure you could enable/find the 'Log' feature.

From that FAQ, the steps to use logging are:

  1. In the popup menu, Shift+Click Help. This will show ‘Log’ menu.
(First you enable the logging function, as I previously described.)
  2. Click ‘Check now’ and wait until X-notifier says ‘Not checked’.
(Then you need to again right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon and click "Check Now".)
  3. Click ‘Log’ will save log file.
(After it has completed checking... you should see 'not checked' ...then again right-click X-Notifier envelope icon and finally, now click 'Log'.)
  4. Send the log file to xndevel@gmail.com.
(Clicking 'Log' will prompt you to save the file, and now you can email the log file to the X-Notifier admin at the above address... if... it's not empty.)

Good luck.
