Firefox main toolbar

In older versions, there was a button/icon you could add to your main toolbar and see X-notifier.  I am only seeing the status bar icon and it's not displaying when I go to Menu > Customize.  Where is the X-notifier icon?

This is on a new Firefox install with default settings and this add-on installed.  What happened to it?

So you use the add-on Status-4-Evar for getting the old Status Bar?

When the icon is not displayed in the Customize window, it should be placed somewhere else. Did you choose to hide the Menu Bar and/or the Bookmarks Toolbar? Right click and show them to check whether the X-notifier is there. Then you can go to the Customize window to drag it back to the Main Toolbar.

As I'm using FF 48.0, I checked where I could find the X-N0tifier orange envelope icon...
...and it appears to exist in three places, which you may need to scroll to find it...  either the Customize window, the Customize Menu window, or wherever you drag it.

I previously dragged the XN icon onto my main toolbar next to the address entry box... so I right-clicked a blank spot on the toolbar to get the pop-up menu and selected Customize.   While Customize is active, a dashed line shows around the main toolbar... so then I right-clicked on my XN icon and clicked 'Remove from toolbar' and it appeared in the Customize window (labeled 'Additional Tools and Features').

Then I right-clicked the XN icon again and got another pop-up menu which gave the choices 'Add to toolbar' and 'Add to menu'.  When I clicked 'Add to menu', the XN icon moved to the right into the Customize menu on the right side... I had to scroll down a little to see the whole icon.

If I click 'Add to toolbar', it goes up into the main toolbar and at the end on the right side... IF you have a smaller FF window, your main toolbar may be 'full', and you may see a right-hand chevron symbol, >>, at the right side of the main toolbar ...and if you click the chevron, you may find the XN icon in the drop down list.  As long as you're still in Customize, you can click-hold-drag the XN icon where you want it on the toolbar.

Perhaps you need to scroll in one of those areas... once you find the icon, right-click the icon for a menu or just left-click, hold and drag it... then click Exit Customize.

And as Jeroen said, make sure the toolbars are not hidden.

Version 3.5.23 can't load hotmail; also, option fields are cleared by FF exit or enter.

???

Previous version was perfect. Update was automatic for WORSE.

Older version unavailable to keep?

system i7, win 10 x64

Just FYI...   My (Firefox 49 and) X-Notifier 3.5.23 has no problem checking my Hotmail/Outlook/Live accounts.

(Note that if you want to keep using X-Notifier 3.5.x with Firefox 49.x or below, you'll have to disable automatic updates of FF and Add-ons.
FF 50.x and above use a new API (programming interface) and X-Notifier 4.x has to change a lot.)
