GMX.com doesn't work

I don't know how long it hasn't been working, but atleast since Firefox 44.

Tobwithu posted the updated script. Here is the downloadlink from the Scripts page:

I'll give it a try when I get on my computer.

Does it work for anyone?

And how can it work if login.gmx.com/login (or login.gmx.fr/login) is not valid??? Am I missing something?

That is the login url and you need to use the secure protocol (https) and include (attach) all input parameter names with their values that you can see in the login form, looking at the html source. When the webserver misses some vital parameter it will not grant access (establish session). So something like:
https://login.gmx.com/login?username=john.doe@gmx.com&password=secret&service=mailint&... etcetera...

Thank you, Jeroen! I will give it a clean try.

Just an another idea: since GMX is changing quite often their login procedure, why did nobody write a script for the mobile page (which works also on a non-mobile device): https://mm.gmx.net/login
Maybe that page doesn't change quite as often... I would write it, but unfortunately I'm not so clever to do so... :-)

Well, why didn't you then... Oh, I see... you have an excuse for it... ;-)

I can tell you I am by far not as smart as the developer of this extension. So when he updates one of his scripts that just deliveres the needed info to his thru the years perfected extension, I assume he has proven it to work. 99 out of 100 times that is the case. But this extension is depending on a lot of criteria!! That is what people don't seem to grasp: Specific mailserver behavior, client (your webbrowser/computer system)  installation, cookie & cache status. You might say the developer has set himself up for a continuously progressing task, that only will get more complex in time.

It's not like there is a vast community out there writing scripts... That would be what the developer was hoping for, but the problem is that writing a script is hardly ever straightforward anymore like it often was years ago. Mailservers now demand more security measures to establish login (session). It is not just like what some users are complaining about: that writing scripts is not documented enough by the developer. It is just more complex then they can imagine and some of these users out there act like they are ordering one more loaf of bread from the bakery shop.

That said (I don't have any gmx account): your mobile suggestion is a .net, but might indeed prove less prone to changes...

Hi Gian-Luca,
I hope to have found the solution to your problem:
Configuring your GMX.COM account in the X-notifier Options, you should use the full username, including the domainname, like gianluca@gmx.com.
I registered a free account at gmx.com and noticed using only the first part (gianluca) is not working (anymore). It should, because the script should handle that, but it is not working correctly at this moment.

@gian-luca: I cannot use my gmx.com account at your mobile suggestion (on my pc).
I was already noticing this is a login page at gmx.net, which serves gmx.net gmx.de gmx.at, not gmx.com gmx.fr...
Are you able to use your account there? And which of these domains do you use then?
