Extension is broken

X-notifier has been broken ever since the FF43 update. Here is what I have noticed:

  1. It does not check for new e-mail at the interval I set. I have five Gmail accounts, one Yaboo, and one Hotmail account. They were all set to 2 minute intervals and worked just fine. Now I have to manually refresh each time.
  2. I have one Gmail account where I set it up to notify when I get new e-mails that are archived and tagged with a label. I do this with my Amazon.com orders as an example. Now I am only notified when I have e-mail in my direct inbox only. I have to physically click on the e-mail account to open it and THEN see that I have unread messages in the Amazon.com label I made.

I tried a clean installation of X-notifier with no luck. I then did a clean install of FF43 with no luck. I tested this on my second computer and no luck. Again, I have not changed any settings in X-notifier since I downloaded it over 2 years ago. Everything was working fine until now.

What I type here, "PURE GUESSING"...

I hope/prayer that Tobwithu will "rewrite" new code alike Safari/Chrome/Opera for Firefox, but it will NOT be the SAME anymore!

I give you several reasons...

1) Bad people trying to hack your email account, not Tobwithu's fault or X-notifier's fault, because of the person who click and open email cause SPAM and collect all info from YOU, when you input on their bad website!

2) Firefox and Mozilla software ARE GOOD, but need more protect by FORCE Tobwithu to rewrite new code on X-notifier, not just itself, but WHOLE Add-ons updates.

3) I suspect that Firefox 45 that will NOT work any longer!... I PRAYER that Tobwithu will update before January 26th? (who knows)

4) Mine Firefox 43.02 with Macintosh ALLLL (about 30 host) works FINE! (except one)

5) About one month lately that Tobwithu did not respond me via private email or on this forum, I start worry about him! UNLESS he surprise us all before January 26th? who know?

Thanks for reading and understanding, CFBancroft

I tried that, but it's not showing unread mail for my labels. I made sure I added the script and added the e-mail from scratch. It is enabled and the other one is currently disabled. I have "Show Labels" checked. Any suggestions?

Sorry, cheering to soon:
I didn't test all possibilities. Now I'm only counting the label messages that skip inbox.

Give me a sec. Or better: let's test thoroughly this time...

Ok, he said carefully. I think I got it correct now.
Can you test it for me, RosbergF1?

GmailX script:  https://db.tt/JsDbu1Dh  (Right-click: Save link as...)

I did not update the script to your new version and I just got a notification for an e-mail in one of my labels. Looks like it was working after all?

I can give the second one you posted a try.

EDIT: Second one seems to work as well.

Thanks! The former one didn't get the count of messages skipping the inbox.
The old html offered a count that included these messages. Things stopped working because that count is not used anymore (always zero). I now had to get the difference between 2 available counts to get that skip inbox number, also to prevent counting inbox twice. (And Inbox Only in X-notifier terms means Primary Category Only)

Disregard what I just said. It does not work anymore. :-(

I was not able to solve the unread archived count and don't understand what criteria determine why some of them do not get included in the count. Read from here:

I can't believe I left out this detail for how I have my labels set up....

Here is one example: I have a label called "Work". I then have sub-labels under that with different names to help me stay organized on who is e-mailing me from work. I keep seven of these under the Work label to minimize the plethora of labels I have already set up. These are the ones that I don't see any alerts for. Any way that these can be worked into the script?

The developer fixed the Gmail script in X-notifier version 3.5.19
So update and delete the GmailX script.

NB: Hidden option enableCategory proved obsolete since a long time.
