Mail.com favicon not working.
http://www.mail.com/favicon.ico
Do you (X-notifier user) know any new update URL?
SO I can update User Guide with correct URL on Mail.com favicon

Odd
Odd. You're right that that address yields a 404 not found, but...
My Chrome X-Notifier mail.com icons are still working... as are my Firefox icons.

favicon redirect
It always can be found in the html header:
Just open the html source (Ctrl+U) and search for favicon.
http://s.uicdn.com/mcom/4.269.8/img/favicon.ico
But perhaps (RpD...) it gets fixed by clearing cache and cookies for mail.com and s.uicdn.com. Then I guess http://www.mail.com/favicon.ico should redirect to the correct location, wich obviously should not be:
http://s.uicdn.com/mail.com/current/img/favicon.ico
Or mail.com removed the redirect from all their pages (I don't have an account).

Favicon.ico refer to About:config with POP/IMAP
Thank you RpD, and jeroen for input.
You (RpD/jeroen) talk about webpage mail.
I am talk about to work with POP and IMAP with Favicon.ico
There is no way to update automatically on POP/IMAP with Favicon.ico
I already include "Thank You jeroen" in our user guide.

Thanx!
Thank you, CFB.
I wasn't aware of the POP/IMAP favicon solution and am using it now for my Tele2 POP account ;-)

Favicon
I have ONLY used favicon setting for my POP/IMAP accounts.
For scripted accounts, I let X-Notifier default fill in the icon.
Occasionally I see scripted accounts fail to display an icon, but it usually fixes itself, eventually.
I have NOT had any problem with my mail.com scripted icons. I'm not using POP/IMAP for mail.com
( Perhaps I lead a charmed life or just don't make the customizations that others are making that may be the cause of... glitches. I just happen to not do any important business with any email that offers 2-step verification. I use my local ISP account... which doesn't even encrypt my local email login. Ack! And I don't use hotspots much.)
I have developed a problem checking my eBay email in any X-Notifier, AOL icon is being temperamental in Chrome X-Notifier, and deviantArt has chronically been a problem in Chrome X-Notifier... which I can correct by clearing cookies... but I don't bother any more, I just manually check it occasionally... or see new mail notices for deviantArt in FF X-Notifier.
I want a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. :(

There are many reasons to use it... explaine mine!
I enjoy look correct logo(s) 'Favicon.ico' on X-notifier with 1 POP/9 IMAP.
ALSO,
I set up Thunderbird and Mac Mail client with POP/IMAP,
I do NOT often to open Thunderbird or Mac Mail client via Firefox with X-notifier.
i.e.
X-notifier Options=>Accounts=>Host (POP or IMAP)=>Link (for Macintosh, file:///_______)
file:///Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail
file:///Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird-bin
ANYWAY,
About 95% of time I always respond via iPad with POP/IMAP accounts.
iPad do not have vibration and I can not hear the sound. (I am Deaf.)
That why I set up X-notifier with POP/IMAP with correct Favicon.ico and
LOOK AT if any new one(s) on X-notifier, I will respond via iPad with POP/IMAP.
After I respond,
A) I will click on 'Check Now' on X-notifier, and it will change to numbers to "0",
B) if not... I will continue to check iPad if any person resond back to me with-in one minute.
C) see A)
AND,What about 5% of time?
Usually to clean up long, long list email...
by doing reorganized or trash it...
PLUS, respond long long email via keyboard on computer, that I can type FAST! not on iPad.
TO RESPOND RpD,
"I want a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie."
I thought you might like to look into
http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/301
That I wrote almost two year ago!
I did remove the "tasteful/flavor" of "Chocolate Chip",
BUT still all good info regard to "cookies".

MWP & Chrome
I find that most of my email checking is with my MailWasher Pro (icon in Systray) and via Chrome/X-Notifier (which has -no- POP/IMAP in Chrome X-Notifier, as you know).
I do also have an iPad and, now, use that Apple iOS email client/notification about as much as MWP/Chrome on laptop... but I type/attach things better on the laptop ;)
( No software cookies... I mean a soft-baked cookie! No, not 'half-baked'. )
...Now I wanna 'nother strawberry!
Too bad Tobwithu can't(?) enable graphics html in the forum display... or is that a Drupal forum software limit... Sigh. (Yes, I have seen the text formal composition tips.)
I pasted a favicon into the composition window... and it shows up, as an apple with a bite out of it... but it won't display in the forum post. Sigh. But I digress! And you should ignore the ravings of a hungry little man.
