Password protection

Hi,

How secure is x-notifier is the event of my laptop being stolen. Is someone going to be able to read my email account logins and passwords out of x-notifier? I am aware that a master password is needed for x-notifier, but do the email passwords stored in x-notifier use strong encryption

Regards,

Hello PPWR again...

I can NOT explain details on this forum...

You talk about "stolen laptop"... I suggest you STAY with Firefox with Master Password!

For Chrome/Safari/Opera... do have "strong encryption"... BUT... Suggest... STAY with Firefox with Master Password!

For your home user (non-laptop) with your Wife/Husaband/kids... Chrome/Safari/Opera... that is OK!

I said for MYSELF,

NOT Tobwithu or X-notifier!

I am talk about based on FF/CH/SF/OP weak or strong...

Have nothing to do with X-notifier regard to STRONG or WEAK!

Thanks, CFBancroft

P.S.

I am speak on Macintosh with iCloud account...

you can turn it on and whenever your Laptop (MacBook Pro) stolen and

you can use your iPhone/iPad (Find iPhone) and erase MacBook Pro...

Before you do that you need to "Daily" back-up with TimeMachine...

before you carry out and when somebody steal it... and you have back it up from TimeMachine...

I am not familar with Window side... I let somebody write this...

Just FYI for everyone...
Once a user is logged onto a Windows user's account... all Chrome passwords are available.  Google believes in using the Windows user account logon as their security... which is damned foolish, since many users disable logon to just go direct to desktop, not realizing all Chrome passwords (if saved) are then an open book.

The following link (three years old) explains Firefox password encryption...

Just talk about only X-notifier... (not FF/CH/SF/OP).

X-notifier between their email homepage, there ARE STRONG ENCRYPTION!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Boil point... Myself I never use Firefox's Master Password turn it 'ON'
and all my 4 iPad (gen 1, gen 2, gen 3, and gen 4) I did not 'turn it on' and enter 4 digital code number.

Basically me lazy to type password every time and ME STUPID!

BUT... I do use password when boot it up my Macintosh,
I need to type password even sleep/awake mode, I need to type password again.

As for my 4 iPad... I never use any PayPal/EBay/Bank on iPad,
just personal email between my wife and kids that all.
If I loose iPad, I will use 'Find iPhone' to erase it.

I will use my home compuer to deal with PayPal/EBay/Bank, and ONLY ONE email account that do not have on my 4 iPad.

Reason that I have "attitude"... If somebody break into your house, and steal your check book and credit card, you have house insurance that cover it, that include your computer's password to access bank. Insurance Company will cover your loss computer's password. Please check your insurance policy.

I hope it helpful to you.
