And... Hotmail, Outlook, Live servers are very sensitive to 'hammering'... (checking too frequently) ...and they'll refuse to respond if you check more than (approximately) once in 15 minutes.
Otherwise... what do you put in, what does X-Notifier do?
I had the same problem but I was with 3.3.4. I upgraded to 3.3.12 and the problem solved itself. However, I'll check x-notifier's behavior in the meanwhile. I've been getting the "Proceed to inbox" overlay/welcome to Outlook thingie recently and it seems to be related to X-Notifier's buggy behavior.
I have 5 accounts and only 4 worked. I had to manually log out of my current hotmail account and then login with XN. Hotmail did something with their security and you had to enter alternate e-mail or a phone number before you can logon. Once I entered that info, all 5 of my accounts work.
I have 1 gmail account which works fine and 3 hotmail accounts 1 of which is a throwaway account this works fine, but the other two cannot get checked/synched I think it's to do with the hotmail 2 factor authentication which the throwaway account doesn't use.
Any news on a workaround or better yet a fix which doesn't involve removing 2FA?

Hotmail.com, Outlook.com, Live.com
Hotmail.com, Outlook.com and Live.com email addresses can be checked with X-Notifier... they are currently working for me.
For 'Username', you must put your entire email address...
user@hotmail.com
...or...
user@outlook.com
...or...
user@live.com
Have you done that?

Hotmail is not working for me
Hotmail is not working for me as well. Incorrect configuration is out of the question as it worked perfectly before.
P.S. Hotmail recently did something weird with some security code changes, so it might have something to do with that.
