Help! Not cheching accounts

By eona , 21 June 2015

Hi,

I'm having trouble with X-notifier not checking one Gmail account when there are several unread emails. This has been going on a while, and I already followed all the steps in http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/4, deleted cookies and reinstalled X-notifier, and the problem persists.

As much as I try, Shift + click Help in the popup menu creates a 0 bytes .log file that can't be attached.

Clarify...

Right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon, and... Shift + click Help ...just enables the logging process.
- After doing that, you must then do a manual check (right-click the X-Notifier envelope icon and click "Check Now" ...or wait for the checking time interval to pass, I suppose) to force X-Notifier to run through the account email checks...which are then logged.
- After that... you can go back to Help and click the new "Log" menu entry... to save the new log to a file.
- Finally, then... you can email the log file to xndevel@gmail.com ...for examination for problems and possible creation of a fix or advice or whatever.  Include a little explanation in your email with the file attached.

At least, that's how I understand it... I'm just another user of X-Notifier.

Thank you very much for your

Thank you very much for your help.

I followed your steps, and still I get a 0 bite .log file  D:

I'll wait some more and see if someone else has had the problem and how they fixed it.

After updating to firefox

After updating to firefox version 38.0.5 this thing stopped working properly. I even updated to x-notifier 3.5.9. It recognizes the up coming emails from gmail and yhaoo but I'm forced to go through all the sign in process for each email account. Something has changed and x-notifier is useless for now. I even emailed the developer but no replies so far. Any solution? Thanks.

Post

@gongas. First, there is a posting about 38.0.5 already... and you might rather post there instead of on this topic, so this topic can stay germane to the original post by eona.

See:  http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/2948

That post linked to above has 4 people (out of thousands of users) that have had trouble with X-Notifier/Firefox after updating FF to 38.0.5 ...the rest of us (at least myself, if not thousands) have not had trouble with 38.0.5.  So, the problem would appear to be specific to certain users' machine/software setups.

If I had the problem... I'd follow the steps in this post first...
http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/4

To define a new Firefox user/profile.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-…

Otherwise, I'd save my bookmarks and uninstall Firefox, delete the program folder and user profile folders, and reinstall fresh... with only X-Notifier addon first.
