AOL web mail not being checked; IMAP still works
As was posted a few days ago, the builtin AOL web mail checker is now failing for some folks including myself. I also have tried to reinstall and reconfigure to no avail. I am hopeful that a fix will be forthcoming.
As a workaround I am using the builtin IMAP checker.
Server: imap.aol.com:993 Username: Your-AOL-Handle@aol.com Alias: AOL IMAP Link: https://mail.aol.com
Lastly, I have also noted that AOL is very sensitive to anything that looks like a proxy login via their web mail portal. I have been testing a number of reverse proxy solutions and AOL on at least 2 occasions has seen the connections coming from the proxy as a "suspicious" login attempt. The second time AOL forced me to change my password. So I cannot point to Xnotifier as the cause per se, as it was just checking every 10 minutes as it was told to do, but it was inadvertently the reason, sort of.
In any case, I hope someone finds this information helpful.

AOL vs X-Notifier
Well... my AOL checking was working fine for a long time... so I would blame AOL... I expect they changed something.
If no one else supplies a test account username/password to xndevel@gmail.com ...I might, eventually ...to speed the process of fixing the script.

It actually still isn't working for me. I've checked it in both current and older versions of Firefox but I'm not getting notices for my AOL account.

only one of two accounts works
Well now I'm just plain confused. I have two AOL email accounts, one made several years back and one made fairly recently, only the latter's working with X-notifier now, can't figure why.

Recreate?
Have you tried deleting the non-working account definition from X-Notifier and redefining it?

Yes I did, it didn't work. I tried following all the advice from the "if your account does not work with X-Notifier" post but nothing remedied the issue. I'm only getting posts for the newer of my two AOL email accounts.

Yes I am.
Yes I am.
I am and have been using the X-notifier Firefox extension for years.
I don't know why one of my aol accounts is working with the extension but the other is not.

Just checking
The reason I asked is I have this issue with Gmail on Chrome: only one of many is working. And my suspicion is this has to do with the fact X-notifier for Chrome needed to be adapted to work with Chrome vs 50. Since I am still on Windows XP, Google prevents me from updating Chrome from vs 49 to 50. Google stopped support for Windows XP. But since your issue is with Firefox I am waisting your time here. I don't even have an AOL account.

AOL problem is fixed in 3.5
AOL problem is fixed in 3.5.21.
Some account has old inbox, which has 'new mail/old mail' folder.
3.5.20 could not handle this.
3.5.21 works with both old inbox and new inbox.
