xnotifier just spinning in firefox

I have Firefox 49.0.2 and  x-notifier 3.5.23 only works so that may be the issue

Same problem.  I'm trying to figure out how to roll back to 3.5.2.3

It states on the Firefox page for X-Notifier that it doesn't work for Firefox 49.0.

FF 48.0.2 with XN 3.5.23 works!
FF 48.0.2 with XN 4.01 NOT works!

FF 49.0.2 with XN 3.5.23 works!
FF 49.0.2 with XN 4.01 NOT works!

FF 50.0 Beta with XN 3.5.23 works!
FF 50.0 Beta with XN 4.01 NOT works!

As of November 16, 2016.

FF 50.0 Released with XN 3.5.23 works? YES
FF 50.0 Released with XN 4.01 works? SHOULD be works, but did NOT!
FYI:
Thunderbird and SeaMonkey latest version with 3.5.23 WORKS WELL!
That included scripts for Facebook, LinkedIn, GMX, DeviantART, POP/IMAP, and ETC... also WORKS!

I have the same problem

I have the same problem when BOTH FireFox was updated to 5.0 and X-notifier was updated to 4.0.1

HELP

I am not too familar with resetting options, software, etc...
