constant yahoo login problems
Unable to log in to Yahoo on any of my three pc's. No problems with Gmail or Hotmail.
Have un-installed / re-installed many times. It then works for a half day or so and then stops functioning again. Have uninstalled Firefox completely, cleaned registry and re-installed Firefox, added X-Notifier, configured only to have Yahoo not log in again. Why is it ONLY Yahoo that seems to have recurring problems? Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Clear Yahoo Cookies
After some password trouble...
I deleted yahoo cookies and my yahoo account in X-Notifier/Firefox and X-Notifier/Thunderbird ...started working again.
In Thunderbird, click Tools, Options, Privacy, Show Cookies... go to yahoo cookies, highlight(select), and click Remove cookie.
In Firefox, click Tools, Options, Privacy... and if it says "Remember history", change it to "Use custom settings...", then click Show Cookies...go to yahoo cookies, highlight(select), and click Remove cookie.
At your own risk... as I'm just guesstimating here for Chrome (I'm not having a problem with Yahoo in Chrome):
- Chrome is more complex. You can find cookies by... clicking the menu icon (three horizontal lines at right end of menu bar), then click Settings... scroll down, click 'Show advanced settings' ...under 'Privacy', click 'Content settings' button, then click 'All cookies and site data' button... and then you can enter: yahoo.com ...in the Search box.
- You will probably get several different listings, but (I'm guessing) it appears the one to delete is the simplest name: yahoo.com ...which may contain 15 cookies, which look similar to the ones in Firefox/Thunderbird (AO, B, F, PH, SSL, T, Y, YLS).
- If you put your mouse pointer over 'yahoo.com', there will be an 'X' out to the right that you can click to delete all 15 cookies, or...
...you can click 'yahoo.com' and it will list the cookies... you can click each cookie and it will show more data (and there will be a 'Remove' button for the individual cookie).

Yahoo login - splash page prob?
My X-notifier works with my gmail accounts, but not the Yahoo account lately. Yahoo has added a 'splash' page prior to logging in. X-notifier addressed such a problem a couple years ago. I have tried deleting Yahoo cookies, but to no avail. Please advise. (P.S. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app - 2ce. No improvement.)

Splash
What does your splash page say? Can you 'answer' whatever they're prompting for? (and make it go away)
When I call up yahoo.com, it goes to login page.

3.5.4
[EDIT: There is a new version 3.5.4 available ...so try that first]
In Firefox, I right-clicked the X-Notifier icon in the menubar, and my Yahoo account was gray (not checked), I clicked that account and I was taken to the login page (no ads because I use ad-blockers), with my username and password filled in (usually it just logs me into my inbox)... I clicked the login button and it did (logged me in, to my inbox.) I will note that Yahoo Mail had to inform me of a new 'link preview' feature once I was actually logged into mail.
So... I cleared the two yahoo cookies and... that fixed it, for me, so that the yahoo account would be checked again.
This seems to be a sporadic problem lately.
If you look above in this thread, you'll see the steps to clear yahoo cookies... which I'll copy here...
In Firefox, click Tools, Options, Privacy... and if it says "Remember history", change it to "Use custom settings...", then click Show Cookies...scroll down to yahoo cookies, highlight(select) them (two), and click Remove cookie.
That may fix it for you also, for now... perhaps it was just the new feature notice, or else Tobwithu will have to catch the new (sporadic) Yahoo glitch and resolve it.

Problem logging in to ATT/Yahoo accounts
For the last few days, one of my email accounts with ATT does not open automatically using X-notifier. Instead, a screen requests that I enter the password. If I do so, I get immedate access to the email account. But this destroys the usefulness of X-notifier. I have a second account directly with Yahoo, and X-notifier opens it every time. What is likely to be causing this problem?

Troubleshoot
(Note: see neil's post also)
I would manually open a new tab (don't use x-notifier), then go to your ATT web login page... and manually log in. See if there are any interfering prompts for anything during the process... if there are, answer them, clear them...whatever it takes to get rid of them so the normal login process can occur.
If that's not the problem, then I might clear the cookies for the account...
In Firefox, click Tools, Options, Privacy... and if it says "Remember history", change it to "Use custom settings...", then click Show Cookies...scroll down to ATT cookies, highlight(select) them, and click Remove cookie...
...if that doesn't help, you might delete the problem account from x-notifier, restart your browser (to clear things), and re-define your account. Also...
