Keep getting yahoo mail captcha popup

Hi

Great plug-in. It's one of my standards.

However I have recently been getting a captcha pop up for yahoo several times during the day. Just wondering if that is a global problem or just me and is there any way to fix that?

Sometimes triggered by how  you use your account... sending a lot of emails, sending an email to multitudes of people at one send.Othertimes not. 
No flood of posts about it yet on forum.

For me it happend just when it was checking for mails...since sometimes i turn the interval to check down to 1min for 3 accounts and so i got 3 captchas popping up each minute.

but at that time i had turned off cookies. after i reenabled them i also installed an beta version of x-notifier and it didnt come back. so not sure if it was the private browsing modus with cookies turned off or the beta version chaging the captcha.

Also...after needing to login manually to my yahoo accounts...i got the captcha aswell. as i have problems too using the flash mail of yahoo since yesterday it might be a problem on their side too.

Checking a mail server more frequently than approximately every 10 minutes is called "hammering the server"... and this behavior is a likely trigger for Captcha.

It never happened before...just today and now no more. so cant be really the reason.

my only problem is now that one mail i receive x-notifier shows as 3 (1 for each mail account) but its only 1 mail i really got.

i deinstalled it...tried x-notifier lite and it works ok. though not the other 2 accounts are recongnized so i went back to install x-notifier.

added my 3 accounts and same result...it reports 3 mails for all 3 accounts...when opening them i get 3 times my default account and none of the other which dont have any new mail at all but as was reported by x-notifier.

it started when i had troubles using the flash version of yahoo. i open my mail account but cant click any mail, spam or change any folder. after a few seconds i can go back to basic version and i can click everything again.

so i am not sure if its a flash issue, or a yahoo change since i had this trouble before...back then it was a problem with firefox nightly build.

will have to wait and see or try another mail addon.

I have the same problem. After the latest update, my Yahoo accounts disappeared from Xnotifier and when I added one back, the captcha started.

well i dont have the captcha issue anymore...just the multiple accounts problem^^

sadly no other yahoo addon is able to do the same as x-notifier did so far. all only work for one account.

I went back to 3.4 and the captcha disappeared, which is strange, since 3.4.1 specifically says it fixes the Yahoo problem.

Another hint for a problem is that Firefox Nightly has issues with yahoo mail. IE and Chrome work nicely with my yahoo mail accounts but with Nightly i can enter my mail account but cant click any folder...or mail. if ai click a mail i just get a blank screen as the mail context.

Sadly x-notifier doesnt exist on Chrome...would love to check it out there and if it would work.

So for now...

1. Firefox Nightly has issues with Yahoo Mail

2. Firefox Nightly has issues now with multiple accounts for yahoo.

Disabling Addons and starting in Safe Mode didnt change the mail account behavior.

Un- and Installing x-notifier again didnt help. Clearing Cache did nothing.

Since no one else is complaining it might be just an Nightly Issue and Yahoo...or none bothered to find this forum for x-notifier yet^^

Damn its so convinient to check 3 accounts with just one click...now i am stuck using 3 Browser to check them each.

X-Notifier does exist for Chrome... see the home page.

(It does not have the exact same functionality as the Mozilla version.)

There is a problem with listing on the Chrome webstore.

Ok in Chrome all my mail accounts work properly and no issue with opening any mail. So thats an Nightly Firefox issue or Flash/macromedia or whatever.

So besides that the Chrome Version works differently as i have to click each account to open it and unlike the FF Version it doesnt open all 3 if i just click the icon.

Why the FF Version opens 3 times the same account and says i have mails for all accounts when its just for one i dont have any clue so far.

Why don't you try the generic 'stable' official release of FF (version 29.0.1) instead of using the bleeding edge alpha 'nightly' version?  Alpha software is not going to be compatible with a lot of existing add-ons.  It helps to post version numbers and make it clear it's an alpha release ('nightly' didn't register with me this time, unfortunately).

You could simply try it once to see if it has the same multi-mail problem.
If it doesn't, well... bleeding edge releases have their problems, and add-on authors aren't as keen to fix them 'nightly'.

Ok its an Nightly Issue...normal FF everything is working. Guess for now i settle for using FF again and not Nightly till its fixed.

Hi,

I love the add-on, been using it for a long time.  Using FF 30 on Windows & Mac and the CAPTCHA box pops up, I enter it, and then it pops up again & again & again right after each other. I've tried reinstalling & still happens. This is so very annoying. I've tried to search the forum for an answer & didn't really see a solution. Is there a fix?

Getting this exact problem in the same environment as of about 30 minutes ago. I've had the browser open for hours with nothing, then the popup. I've had to disable (uncheck) the offending account to make the popup stop. I rarely use this particular Yahoo account; haven't sent mail from it in many months. I even clicked the account in xnotifier and went right to my inbox with no problems.

What is the point of the captcha popup if it doesn't accept a correct answer?
