Problem with Twitter

Since yesterday there is a problem with logging in to Twitter.  Please check and repair this fault

I keep getting a prompt to enter Captcha words for Twitter. No error message is issued about words being wrong, but Twitter still shows as 'Not checked', and at some point the prompt shows up again.
