Keeps Wiping Oout Saved Setting/Redirecting To NAG Screens

Poorly designed !  This addon keeps wiping out saved settings (Email addresses/passwords) and redirecting to NAG screens for donations. Turn off updates - no change.

This junk doesn't even work correctly !  No way I would donate.

Save your breath the developer doesn't return emails

I'll just delete this junk.  Every freaking time I open Forefox it wipes out saved settings and redirects to a NAG screen for donations.

I don't doubt the developer hides from the hundreds of negative reviews I have seen various places.  Oh, the little Punk will take donations though...

You people don't know what you're talking about...
...this addon has hundreds of thousands of downloads, thousands of users. Oh and sometimes requires some effort, tech skills to maintain... that's what these forums are for, to help less skilled users, not just trash the developer. It has been in use and constantly updated for years. The developer has a real job, in real life, and he recently got very busy opening a medical clinic... so updates are understandably a lot slower now, but he still comes back to this app eventually.  Too late for Chris (who should probably try not clearing X-Notifier cookies every time), but CyberTooth should leave off slamming something that's had a great life and is a secondary donation-ware hobby for the developer,  that now requires some patience sometimes for updates.
If you don't like it, uninstall and leave... don't hang around just to trash it.
I have two dozen accounts, including the majors that are embedded in the application and they all still work fine... even Yahoo.  I have one custom script that's stopped working and I could look into it myself to attempt to fix it, but it's no big deal, I can wait.   Have you even donated once?  How much... $5?  What complaining rights that buys.
Sorry all, it's late and I'm just sick of lame putdowns from those who have a bit of a reason to complain but no patience... for what may be a considerable delay... and then instead of helping someone, they run them off with a snide remark.  There is no comparable addon that does so much and does it for so little. /end rant

Yes the developer has a life besides this but it's about time Mozilla Firefox takes action against these developers who don't care and just let the extensions hanging and no it's not only him it's many others do the same exact thing. I rest my case and that's all i got say.

Yes, they really should just terminate all apps that aren't johnny-on-the-spot and bowing down to user demands... the way all software developers are. (/sarcasm off)  Patience is a virtue ...again, if it doesn't suit you, try something else.

First, export into a file (firefox.xn) your settings in X-notifier. (Click on the X-notifier icon and click the Export button.)

In Firefox, go to Options -> Privacy -> History and where it says "Accept cookies from sites" make sure that the "Keep until" entry says "they expire". Then press the Settings button (near the "Clear history when Firefox closes" entry) and uncheck Cookies.

Install X-notifier 4.0.3 and import your settings from the firefox.xn file. Re-start Firefox.

Be aware that right now X-notifier does not work with Yahoo New Mail versions. It appears to work (according to other people!) with Yahoo Classic Mail versions.
