Alternative to X-notifier?

Anyone know if theres a half decent alternative to x-notifier please?  We're getting a bit fed-up now checking

back every day for script updates.  It gets a bit laborious when each login script goes down and you have to wait months

for updates.

There are alternatives... but usually they are only for a single email provider.  Haven't seen any that allows you to check so many different kinds of accounts... probably because... email providers change their logins so much, and it's a bit laborious keeping up with all the capricious providers.

Usually, it does not take months for script or program updates... especially for custom scripts, when someone provides a test account name/password to xndevel@gmail.com      ...it depends on when the developer can find time from his life/job to work on this donationware (have you donated?)  Note that there is also a script that checks for script updates... called Scripts, which goes along with the XN forums script. It should notify you when there are developer updates to any custom scripts you're using from the developer's Scripts page.

It's a shame there are no proper alternatives as it would be another option for the end user. Yes I did donate to the software and would do so each year, as I do for many donation softwares. However as I find this one lacking in functionality for months at a time each per year I feel that it's not appropriate.

I also run donation funded websites & due to those donations I feel obliged to keep them up to date and operational, not so it seems for the Xnotifier scripts as it does indeed take months for the scripits to be maintained :(  GMX.COM has not worked for almost 6 weeks for me IIRC and on the two previous occasions it was failing to login it was about the same amount of time before an update to the rather simple script appeared. I've even had a go at editing it myself but got stuck as I don't know my way around Java fully.  I have tried emailing & notified the developer via facebooked as soon as the scripts fail but there's never a response or notification of planned intention.

Don't get me wrong I really appreciate the software but it's rather annoying when it doesn't work for so long.

Thank you for the heads up regarding the notification regarding scripts, for some reason mine was un-checked.

A good alternative used to be Digsby which is a chat manager for various services. However I haven't used it in a few years, so don't know if it's still viable. Another alternative used to be Trillian - same concept.

Both chat managers, did they do email (and without chat)?

I am switching to Rambox, it is an extra program to run but at least it is well maintained.    https://github.com/saenzramiro/rambox

I switched to Rambox too. It works well !

Is it a comfortable alternative indeed? Please confirm whoever can. Need more opinions. No matter it's not an addon.
