Seems Gmail changed again

As per the subject.

Today, both on my laptop and on my home pc, Gmail account on N-Notifier stays grayed out.

Upon clicking on it, it brings me to a new google page that goes under the name "Personal account" and let me changes several google account settings. Definitely no Email there.

Well... I have three gmail accounts and clicking my account in X-Notifier drop-down list takes me to my inbox on all of them.  You might try opening a new tab manually, going to gmail, and see if there are any prompts to change your settings... take care of that and x-notifier may work normally again.

Nope.... I tried. It happened to me other times so I knew that. But this time, if I type mail.google.com I get to my mail account, no changes or notifications needed. If I click on the notifier icon it just opens myaccount.google.com

I confirm the problem. However, I see this issue on my work computer but not on the one at home. I use X-Notifier v 3.5.18 in Firefox v 42.0 on Windows 8 on the work computer. (Not sure about the versions on the home computer, it runs Windows 10 and Firefox and I usually keep Firefox and all add-ons up to date.)

On my work computer, where X-Notifier stopped working, I notice that clicking on the X-Notifier icon now takes me to myaccount.google.com, not to mail.google.com as it always did.

Only difference is that I'm running Windows 7.

Ruskie, I had the same problem as you but I found the solution.
When you click on the icon of X-notififier, you arrive to this page : "https://myaccount.google.com/".
It's normal, Google has detected that you modify security settings these days and they need to check these settings with you.
Go to the page "https://myaccount.google.com/" et go to the option "Checking security settings" at the bottom left of the page.
Start the check, verify the security checking and finish it.
After that, normally, you close the page and you can click on the icon of X-notififier and everything will work as before.

It worked for me, I hope it will work for you and for others too :-)

That works, thank you!
