Please Help! No Inbox! Safari!

Please Help! I've looked everywhere! I can't get my Safari Inbox to show!

In the past, I've used X-Notifier on Firefox with great pleasure but a problem developed with one of my screen names (NOT X-Notifier's fault, it's a problem with Firefox!)

So, I decided to go Safari X-Notifier. Isuccesfully downloaded 3.3.2 for Safari for my MacBook Pro (OS 10.8 Mountain Lion). I can easily add AOL accounts by clicking on Safari-Preferences-Options link on the Safari extension but ONLY ONE PAGE OF OPTIONS COMES UP. That page allows me to add an account but, unlike the second page (called "General") on Firefox, I don't have too many choices regarding the inbox. "Notify Inbox" checks off automatically but NO INBOX IS VISIBLE. And, when I click on Safari-View-Show X-Notifier Inbox, a BLANK BAR appears at the top of my Safari Browser Screen.

Please help me see my accounts in my inbox.

Thanks!

There is only one 'page' of Options in the Safari/Chrome/Opera version of X-Notifier.

Checking 'Notify inbox only' means that X-Notifier will only check for new email in the Inbox of the webmail account you are defining or editing.   X-Notifier does not have an inbox, will not show inboxes... you have to go to your webmail account to see its inbox.  X-Notifier only provides alerts that you have new email, and shows a count of email (number of new messages in the account inbox, unless you UNcheck 'Notify inbox only' - then it will show new message counts in other folders besides inbox).

Does that help?

Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately, I used the wrong term!

I didn't mean that I couldn't see the AOL inbox, I mean that no X-notifier list of aol accounts appears (as it does in Firefox). Instead, there is a tiny box at the top of Safari which shows the total number of inbox emails. When I hold the cursor over the number, it shows which account has how many emails. I really prefer the box but can't use Firefox. Any suggestions of other ways Safari can be made to show the number of inbox emails in each account?

I'm not sure what you mean, perhaps the others' posts will help, but...

Mozilla version (Firefox, Sea Monkey, Thunderbird) of X-Notifier is different from Safari/Chrome/Opera version of X-Notifier.

Firefox 'General' tab offers 'Open messages... in a new window', 'Interface... open X-Notifier window on startup', and 'Popup Menu... (checkbox enable) X-Notifier window'.  These are not available in Chrome/Safari/Opera version... as far as I know.

Mozilla version lets you hover over X-Notifier envelope icon, and a list of new email counts pops up (or right-click to get all accounts).
Safari/Chrome/Opera version... also lets you hover over X-Notifier envelope icon for a similar new mail count pop-up list.  (Right-click does not list accounts in Chrome/Safari/Opera).

Do you mean that Firefox has a 'sidebar' or that X-Notifier can show its own Window in Firefox?  Neither of those exist in Safari/Chrome/Opera version... Sidebar and Window are optional features of Firefox and Sea Monkey (no Sidebar in Thunderbird, only Window option).

Does that help?

Dear RdB,

Thank you so VERY much for your replies to my cry for help!

I've never been part of any forum before and had no idea how wonderful and caring and knowledgeable the members could be!

To you, RpD: Thank you SO MUCH for your second reply. You answer was simply perfect and explained everything! I was looking for something that does NOT exist in the Safari version of X-notifier! Now, I understand... I can't tell you how much your response helped! Please know that you are so appreciated.

Please know that in a world that has become less knowledgeable and less caring,  you are a rare and precious find. Thanks for restoring my belief that there are some really good people out there.

Best wishes and happy adventures,

Robin G.

I found that it does not work correctly in Safari 5.x.
Please try to use Safari 6.x or Chrome.

To you tobwithu, thank you so very much for you remarkable program. As you can see, it means a lot to me... Thanks, too, for letting me know that I cannot expect it to work correctly in Safari 5.x. but, rather, in Safari 6.x. That was really important and I thank you so much for helping me. Please keep up your brilliant work.

Mine I can not use Safari 5 with 10.7.5,
( I did download and try install Safari 5 to test,
but computer won't allow me, it said must use 10.6 or less.)

Right now, I am using Safari 6.0.5 with OS 10.7.5.

Post above OS 10.8 that mean they are using Safari 6.0.5, NO question asked!

Therefore Post Above still problem with Safari 6.0.5 (not Safari 5).

So Tobwithu's suggest about Safari 6, STILL SAME problem, because they use Safari 6.

Thanks, CFBancroft

P.S.
I did test with Safari Version 6.0.5 (7536.30.1) with Mac OS 10.7.5

I did send test my AOL account by send one from Hotmail.
I move my mouse the coursor over the number (without any click).
