Changes in Chrome 70 and later
Beginning in Chrome 70, users have the ability to restrict extension host access to a custom list of sites, or to configure extensions to require a click to gain access to the current page.
You should allow X-notifier to read and to change site data on all sites.
(Right Click X-notifier icon -> This can read and change site data -> On all sites)
https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/runtime_host_permissions
If you don't know about this, and you didn't change any settings X-notifier will work as before.

Latest Chrome update
Updated to Version 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) (64-bit) yesterday. Everything is in the toolbar(addresses, etc) It's just not checking for emails. I can click an address and the email client will open.
Thanks

Using X-Notifier 4.2.8
You've right-clicked X-Notifier orange icon and clicked "This can read and change site data", and selected "on all sites"?

X-Notifier 4.2.8
Yes sir. It does everything except actually check mail. Email names are red yet I can click and open the email client, hotmail, gmail etc. Am I missing something? I am using windows 8.1 and have refreshed chrome and removed and re-installed notifier. Also my icon is grey not orange if that says anything.
Thanks

I have cleared cache, cookies and history. I have no trouble logging into any email or other sites. I tried to download the "log" but got the error message-"failed-network error".
Thanks

Just to be sure...
Not sure why you're getting a network error... you are not downloading the log file, you are creating the log file using X-Notifier to log its mail-checking operation and save the log file on your computer.
Just to be sure of steps to create a log file in recent Chrome versions...
- Click the X-Notifier envelope icon (a menu pops up)...
- In the popup menu, hold Shift+Click on Help. (This will enable ‘Log’ menu.)
- Again click the X-Notifier envelope icon and click ‘Check now’ and wait until X-notifier finishes checking... it may tell you an account was ‘Not checked’, or show the account names in red.
- Yet again, click the X-Notifier envelope icon and finally... click "Log". This should pop up a window to save the log file on your computer.
- After saving, check that the log file does -not- have a file size of zero bytes, and...
- You can send a brief description of the problem along with the log file to xndevel@gmail.com for analysis. It may take a while, the developer does this in his spare time.

Silly
The Chrome update has resolved some local issue on your computer concerning your Chrome setup, nothing to do with the XN app.
