No notification of new messages in Gmail account inbox
It seems to start malfunctioning after udpating Chrome to version 47.0.2526.106 m
X-notifier notifies spam folder messages though.
Edit:
Under another Chrome profile, another gmail account and google account user, X- notifier isn't handling Inbox correctly. Yet spam folder is selected to be notified and it's working well. Very odd.

X-N stopped working in Chrome and Firefox: GMail code problem??
As of a few days ago, X-notifier has stopped working, both in Firefox and Chrome.
On the respective threads of this forum, it has been suggested that recent browser updates might have caused this, but to me another likely option is that the GMail code has been changed, which causes the disfunctioning of X-notifier.
tobwithu, can you verify and confirm this??

It is not a Firefox issue....
It is not a Firefox issue.... I still use FF28 and have the same problem as people with FF43

Also not working on Opera.
Also not working on Opera. Thought I just needed to restart my browser, but still didn't work. All the other similar plugins, do not work as well. Hopefully I do not need to go back to using an external chat program which offers email notifications.

Another confirmation
I have four gmail accounts all failing to notify new messages since about 18th December in multiple browsers. My three Yahoo accounts have been all working perfectly. I can log in to each gmail account via X-notifier, but usually have to provide further security information to complete the login.
Also I have been getting sporadic security warnings from each of the gmail accounts from about the same date. These security alerts are always false alarms occurring due to X-notifier accessing said gmail account, since X-notifier is the only program accessing them from the IP address in question at the time in question. The security warning IP address is always my own, however the location of the IP has been recently switching between three servers and three cities that my ISP can switch me to.
It seems like Google are going overboard with google account security recently. I am now frequently asked added security questions when logging in, therefore X-notifier has no chance of automatically logging in to check my message count.

Appreciated, but...
I am not the developer, who has the forum name 'tobwithu'. He has not 'been with us' since mid december and yes, we are hoping the reason for this is that he is working on a new 'Classic' (not 'Neo') version that will pass Mozilla's new security rules: http://xnotifier.tobwithu.com/dp/node/3023
Let's hope my incomplete fix will get cmpleted by him soon!
Thanks for the donation.

Gmail fixed in version 3.5.19
The developer fixed the Gmail script in X-notifier version 3.5.19
So update and delete the GmailX script.
NB: Hidden option enableCategory proved obsolete since a long time.
